Positive Behaviour Support

Positive Behaviour Support (PBS) is a person-centred approach to behaviour that is focused on improving quality of life and reducing behaviours of concern.

Our accredited Positive Behaviour Support Practitioners will work closely with you and your family, carers and support networks to develop intervention plans and strategies that allow you to live your best life.

We can help with preparing you for school, work or other social activities, assisting in developing communication and social skills and building your mental health, flexibility and resilience.

At Your Functional Therapy, we believe a multidisciplinary approach is important. Your NDIS Positive Behaviour Support Practitioner will work closely with your other service providers, such as an Occupational Therapist, Speech Pathologist, Physiotherapist and Exercise Physiologist, for a holistic service focused on your personal needs.

Functional Behaviour Assessment

Our Positive Behaviour Support practitioners can help assess why you behave the way you do by appraising your physical and social environments and speaking to those who help and care for you. This assessment will help our practitioners in finding information about the context of the behaviour of concern, the skills that might be needed to replace the behaviour and the changes, if any, that need to be made to your environment to help you and your support network feel safe and supported, and live an active and fulfilling life!
